The 10 disks provided were "R's" vice "RW's" as recommended by the camera's manufacturer's instructions. The camera is fine, but a little disappointed with the kit. The worst part is, it makes you think you're recording, and then you go to play it back, and it's not there. This is a certified piece of junk. The digital camcorder known as the Vixia HF200 was just released a few months ago. Compared to the other models in its class, this gadget is somewhat expensive at roughly around $600. This model is quite similar with that of the HF20 model except that the latter does not have any internal memory.
This Canon HF200 model is similar in many ways to some other models in the same class. For still images, it can only shot up to 4 mega-pixels. The model’s shutter speed is at 1/2000 sec and its minimum illumination is 0.4. This characteristic is quite identical with the other camcorders under the same class.

We love this camcorder! For us, convenience is absolutely key, as our goal is simply to record family memories (mostly of our children); not to edit or make feature films or even to have need to transfer from tape to DVD. Accordingly, we have no desire for anything particularly complicated, cumbersome, or expensive, and this low-end DVD model does the trick.
First, it is the lowest price (by far) of all the DVD models we reviewed.
